Gobal Report

Democracy Beyond the Ballot Box

Since the establishment of OGP in 2011 it has worked diligently on the promotion and further development of open government world-wide. However, negative aspects are also gradually rising potentially threatening the rights of people and the advances made in opening up society. This raises questions about the impact of the commitments made by OGP member countries and whether they are achieving the goal of ensuring better collaborative and accountable government.

To answer these questions OGP published the Global Report, which has three components. The first takes a lookat the status of open government world-wide, the second focuses on the socioeconomic impact that open government has had and the last component focus on the impact of open government in specific, such as justice, regulatory governance, civic space and anti-corruption and government service delivery.
