Modern technologies have been implemented to enhance the transparency and inclusivity of the electoral process. Elections initially began with paper ballots and evolved into innovative modern applications and automated procedures, such as the "Choose and Elect" app, which have contributed to enhancing convenience, security, transparency, and broad community participation. This has allowed citizens, including women and older persons, to participate in elections and build an active democratic society. The Sultanate of Oman is committed to continuing to promote democratic progress in the country.
